VIP PAGE NOTES
This will be the last page I work on this week.
I believe I can transfer all information from the old page, however I need to make sure that I can integrate a secure area into the wordpress architecture. It’s possible that the secure scripts that check if people are logged in or not will simply apply to regular old wordpress category pages (so when I try to click the VIP category page in wordpress, the same scripts from the old site will still check if I’m logged in) – if that works then it shouldn’t take too long to move everything over.
If not, I’ll just copy the “look” of the new wordpress hardcore choppers site (new top banner, etc) and make the VIP pages standard HTML / non-wordpress. When you click a link to VIP from the wordpress page, you won’t notice the difference, and likewise when you click the menu to “bikes” or “contact us” etc, you go back to the wordpress page without knowing the difference. I’d rather try the first approach however, because I won’t have to make a page design that mimics the look of our new wordpress pages.
Test post for the featured bike section
This post will be formatted and styled with the same plugin as the bikes section, to give us our “thumbnail” home view that loads a specific “gallery” page for each bike, however I need to make sure that we can still add videos and stuff for each post (definitely for featured bike, but I’m assuming we will be doing this over in the bikes section too eventually).
ALSO: I wrote a note about changing this back to “featured bike” – will do this at shop tomorrow when i have photoshop files, today will be coding and plugin modification for the galleries.
Obama Signs Motorcycle for BJ Auction
The Barret-Jackson Auction this Thursday through Saturday (Sept. 23-25) in Las Vegas will feature a unique motorcycle: a Hardcore Choppers custom autographed by US President Barack Obama.
The bike, nicknamed the P-40 Warhawk, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with all proceeds to benefit the Fisher House Foundation, a charity that builds houses and donates them to the government to provide free housing to military families who have a member being treated at a military or Veterans Affairs hospital. The AP says there are 49 Fisher Houses on the grounds of military and VA medical centers.
The bike also features autographs from other politial figures, including Vice President Joe Biden and National Security Advisor James Jones. Jones’ son, Jim, is the one who donated the bike to the auction.
The bike built by the Sterling, Va., based Hardcore Choppers was designed to recall the 1950s European race cars. The bike features a 150-hp v-twin and a six-speed transmission, and custom P-40 Warhawk paint.
The bike has two-into-one stainless steel exhaust, HC Speedster bars featuring an internal clutch and throttle, aircraft wiring and speedster wheels wrapped with Avon tires.
The AP also stated that Barrett-Jackson has waived its transaction fee for the charity auction.
